Keeper Jagger makes net gain

Goalkeeper Joseph Jagger was the hero in more ways than one for Wilsden as they won a penalty shoot-out 4-3 against Harrogate Railway Athletic in the West Riding County FA Junior Shield second round.

After both missed two of their first five penalties, the tie went to sudden-death, and Jagger saved after Luca Zenti had put Wilsden ahead 4-3.

Jagger also scored a goal when playing outfield earlier in the tie as the teams finished normal time at 3-3, Zenti and Sam Murphy also netting.

Murphy scored with a twice-taken penalty in extra time and Zenti hit a post, but Athletic scrambled a last-minute equaliser to make it 4-4.

Westwood Under-Eights continued their great form with a 12-0 victory over Horton Foxes in the Keybury League, with goals from Max McGuire (3), Jordan Harrison (2), Lucas Keenen (2), Ethan Allen (2), Josh Allen, Kian King and an own goal.

Bradford United Scorpions took the lead through Felan Panwar in their top-of-the-table clash against Bingley but they were 4-1 down at half-time, and that would have been worse were it not for their keeper Jack Fairlie. It ended at 6-1, defender Max Parrott getting the man of the match award.

East Bowling Allstars drew 0-0 against in-form Menston, Abbey Hall, Hanzala and Rowan Khan and Shaun Pipe all doing well for Allstars, as did keeper Jamie Smith.

Albion Sports Under-Nines won a thriller 5-4 against Kings Park after taking a 2-0 lead through Junaid Holden and man of the match Raheem Mohammed, only to be pegged back to 2-2 by half-time.

Mohammed added three more in the second half but never-say-die Kings Park made it a tense finish. Debutant Alfie Moulden was excellent in Albion’s midfield, as was Aaron Morris in defence.

Bradford United maintained their 100 per cent record with a 4-0 defeat of Oakworth Hornets, although keeper Jordan Moorhouse was outstanding in keeping a clean sheet.

Asa Mitchell (2) put United ahead in the first half, only for Oakworth’s keeper to shine after the interval.

United eventually got their third from Jack Holroyd, Mitchell then completing his hat-trick after a great assist from man of the match Eisa Faulding.

Bradford Lizards won 2-1 at Bingley B, who went ahead via an own goal after Lizards’ Matthew Ham and Joe Waters had each struck a post. However, Waters thundered an equaliser and Haseeb Alam got a late winner.

Albion Sports’ Under-Tens made it five wins out of five with a 5-1 defeat of Eldwick Juniors, Lewis Myers and Mohammed Yusaf Hussain scoring contrasting goals to make it 2-0.

Hussain, Andre Tavernier and Mahamed Suhail Wajid also netted, Eldwick getting a late consolation. Neel Herar was outstanding at the back for Albion.

A late start meant Bradford United’s game against Eccleshill was reduced to 20 minutes each way. Eccleshill took the lead but Leon Taylor equalised from a free-kick and United took charge in the second half, goals coming from Josh McKiernon (2) and Omar Powell, Billy Raistrick getting the man of the match gong.

East Bowling Allstars lost to Wortley, but Ben Sharpe, Adil Mahdi, Kieran Henderson, Cayden Kendal and goalkeeper Sam Foord shone for East Bowling. Scholemoor Scorpions kept up their excellent form, beating Oakworth 9-1 in Under-11 Yellow.

There were hat-tricks for Bailey Illingworth and man-of-the-match Danny Raj, Josh Collins, Adam Kendal-Edmonson and Dalton Bottomley completing the tally.

The writing was on the wall early for Westend Tigers Under-13s when they faced Bradford United in the RCD Huddersfield League Cup as they were 2-0 down in as many minutes on the way to a 17-1 defeat.

On target were Jack Kippling, Connor Frost, Lewis Valter, Josh Finan, James Garside, Ryan Craven, Rhys Rastrick and Rajan Thiara.

East Bowling Allstars went out 8-1 against Hepworth United but it was a good effort against a side three divisions higher. David Moynihan got the consolation.

Allstars Under-11s made it double misery for Westend, winning their cup tie 9-0. Jordan Hobson (3), Lewis Oddy (3) and Daniel Walker were among the marksmen. Prince Kahlon was again outstanding in defence for Albion Sports Under-12s, who went down 3-1 against Thackley in the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League.

Albion’s man of the match Zain Mushtaq was brought down for Albion’s penalty and Nadeem Khan had a shot headed off the line.

Bradford Tigers Under-13s went down 10-4 to Queensbury Celtic on what became a gluepot pitch at Foxhill Park but it didn’t feel like such a heavy defeat.

Inspired as usual by Jordan Kitching and James Townend, Tigers’ goals came from Lucas Davey, Kitching, Joe Gartland and Daniel Chapman.

Impressive Celtic, who for the first time this season had substitutes, had goals from man of the match Thomas Bingham (3), Samuel Cahill (2), Adam Delve, Toby Priestley, Conor Mahan, Conor Whelan and Mark Gibson.

Undercliffe Celtic won 9-2 at Thackley, Philip Byron scoring five, Ryan Simpson three and Nathan Bailey one. Their man of the match was left back Joshua Green.

Idle Juniors Under-14s went within a point of top spot with a 5-0 win over Keighley Shamrocks, goals coming from Mohammed Hamzah (2), Matthew Kraus (2) and Ben Dearnley.

Fairbank United Under-16s won 10-6 against Guiseley Blues, despite going 4-0 down inside ten minutes.

Demitric Nelson, Sohail Fiaz (3) and Sohail Rashid began the fightback and, although Guiseley made it 5-5, Fairbank went on to dominate the second half via Nelson, Fezan Akubat (2), Umar Ahmed and Ahsan Naveed.
