SALTAIRE AA

The club’s annual meeting is on Monday at the Ring O’ Bells on Bradford Road in Shipley, starting at 8pm.

Members should show their yearbooks for admission. The agenda is available on the website http://saltaire-aa.org.

A small number of rule updates, use of second rods, keepnets and bait restrictions will be discussed at the meeting.

If you are unable to attend, please express your opinions on the proposals in the forum on the website.

The winter canal matches start on Sunday, November 8 and the river matches on November 15.

A member caught four good tench at Tong Park, while others continue to catch carp weighing eight to 12 pounds, with the prospect of other species or larger fish.

Reduced rate membership (£5) is available from local tackle shops.

WASHBURN VALLEY

Catch details for week ending October 25 – Day ticket: Fewston 17, Swinsty 6, Thruscross (catch and return) 2. Total fish caught: Fewston 61, Swinsty 26. Average per rod: Fewston 3.6lb, Swinsty 4.3lb. Heaviest fish caught was a 7lb 8oz rainbow trout by Khan, using Dawson’s Olive. Fewston and Swinsty: Bigger fish as water temperature drops overnight. Wet fly and buzzers as hatches of fly cover the water in the sheltered margins. Daddy longlegs blown across the water surface encouraging fish to rise in the warmer afternoons.

LISTERHILLS AA

For Sunday’s match at Pilley’s Dam, the gate will be open at 8.30am with the draw at 8.45am. Membership books are now available at KL Tackle, Keighley. Roach catches weighing into double figures from the Aire & Calder Navigation, with Pollington one of the most productive areas.

KEIGHLEY AC

There is an open match on the river at Steeton on Sunday. Draw is at Steeton Bridge (8.45am). Ring Steve Parker on 01535-648793 to book. Good catches of chub and grayling are being reported from the Kildwick stretch of river, so try using ledgered bread now that the weather is turning colder.

IDLE & THACKLEY AA

Open match on River Swale this Sunday at Swainby. To book call 01274-15016.

HEWENDEN AC

Draw for this Sunday’s pike match is 9am in the bottom car park. These matches are for members only and licences will be checked, including rod and line licences. Mixed bags to 6lb easy at the moment, with roach, perch and skimmers responding to maggot. Big perch to 3lb off Tower Pegs on pop-up lob worm. Pleasure fishing will be allowed (but not for pike) on pike match days after the 9am draw and providing there are any pegs available.

GRATTAN AC

Result of Lindholme match: 1 L Simpson (45lb-8oz), 2 R Wood (32lb-12oz), 3 D Newsome (26lb). Our next match is the Christmas Cheer at Langwith Lakes on November 14. BRAFORD NO 1 AA

The final round of the Calder League takes place this Sunday. The draw is at the Black Bull in Brighouse at 8.30am. There are still tickets left for the match at Beal on November 8. This venue is fishing well for nets of roach, perch and skimmers. The River Ouse at Thorpe Underwood and Widdington is fishing well for roach and occasional chub.
