Leeds Carnegie have received an apology from referee David Rose for disallowing them a try just before half-time last Sunday at Guinness Premiership leaders London Wasps in a game Leeds only lost 21-15.
Leeds, who had to settle for a losing bonus point from their best performance of the season to date, appeared to take a crucial 11-6 lead with the conversion to come.
But Saracens scored with the last play of the half to give themselves the advantage.
Leeds’ director of rugby Andy Key said: “Credit to David Rose.
"He has phoned us this week having seen the game on video and admitted that the try should have been given.
"If we score then the game has a completely different complexion.”
