Keighley veteran Chris Young had to settle for second place in the fourth round of the Yorkshire Cyclo-Cross Points Series staged at Graves Park in Sheffield.
The former British champion crossed the line just behind in-form Sigma Sport RT rider Tom Last, from Thornbridge in Derbyshire.
Third spot went to Candi TV-Marshall’s Pasta professional Graham Briggs, who is perhaps better known as a road racer.
Crosstrax rider Neal Crampton took fourth spot, while Tom Moses of Keighley was fifth and best of the juniors.
Bradford Olympic-Paul Milnes RT rider Rob Thackray finished seventh and his team-mate Tim Baldwin tenth.
Adela Carter, another Crosstrax rider, was best of the women in the supporting race, holding off Bradford Olympic-Paul Milnes rival Hannah Shenton.
Joseph Moses showed he is following in older brother Tom’s footsteps with a win in the youth race, the Bronte Wheelers rider beating Adam Martin to the line.
Bradford Olympic-Paul Milnes youngster Billy Harding was best of the under-14s in the youth race, while seventh spot went to Edwyn Oliver-Evans of East Bradford CC.
The Yorkshire Points Series takes a break for a week, with the second round of the National Trophy being staged in Derby on Sunday, but the series resumes on October 18 in Huddersfield.
