Guiseley 1, Nantwich Town 0
On-loan former Farsley Celtic striker Damian Reeves netted the only goal of the game tonight as Guiseley claimed three points from the visit of Nantwich Town in the UniBond League Premier Division.
The Cheshire outfit found themselves overtaken in the early-season table by their Yorkshire hosts following a tight game. Possession was quite even but the Lions edged the chances count.
Steve Burton, playing further forward with Jamie Walshaw suspended, had three good opportunities in the first half but that period remained goalless.
The match-winner came from Reeves, who was on as a substitute.
He netted a header after Anthony Lloyd had got on the end of a long crossfield ball and picked out Reeves as the better option, despite having a sight of goal himself.
Reeves had another good chance minutes later but the closest Guiseley came to adding to their lead was when Lloyd smashed a shot against a post midway through the second half.
