The Bulls could recall Ben Jeffries for Sunday’s crunch clash with Salford City Reds.

The Aussie stand-off hasn’t played since the loss at Hull KR on July 12.

He has missed the last six games following minor foot surgery but is now deemed fit again and may come into the reckoning for the club’s penultimate Super League fixture.

“We’ll be pretty similar to the side that beat Catalans,” said boss Steve McNamara.

Chris Nero had a bit of a neck problem after that but he seems to be okay. We’ve nursed one or two other people at this stage of the season just to get them through to games but we should be all right.

“I think Ben Jeffries may be available as well.”

Although Jeffries was ever-present before his injury, the Odsal chief may be tempted not to make changes to his winning side as they bid to make it four victories on the bounce.

Paul Sykes has switched to half-back and proved effective in his absence so Jeffries might have to make do with a place on the bench if selected in the matchday squad.

Meanwhile, McNamara believes his players – who must win on Sunday to keep their play-off dream alive – have benefited from a fortnight’s break since their last action.

“We’d played a lot of games consecutive and, as much as we were on a roll, it’s been an opportunity to clear up a few little niggles.

“We’ve had a rest now and hopefully we can bring people back fresh.”
