Guiseley look to get back to winning ways at home to Boston United on Saturday after a defeat and a draw in their last two matches.

But they will have to breach a defence which has only conceded one goal in three league games so far.

The Lions are fifth, just one place above Boston, but the hosts have played a game more.

Guiseley’s excellent start, with two out of two victories, has tailed off slightly but boss Steve Kittrick stressed the need for patience.

He said: “The start of the season is always a funny time. Look at midweek – there were a lot of draws in the division that you wouldn’t expect.

“It has not been a bad start for us but you have to look at the first ten or 15 games to get a real guide.

“Boston have only let one goal in so they must be defending well but they are on the same points as us, having scored just three."

Kittrick was forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Ossett Town on Tuesday but accepted it was a fair result.

He added “After the first ten or 15 minutes I would have been very disappointed to settle for a point but at the end of the game it was a fair result.

“Their goal was an absolute cracker, no complaints there. We had a shot cleared off the line in the last minute but if it had gone in it would have been an injustice.”

He gives fitness tests to Jerome Fitzgerald and Chris Holland, who both missed the Ossett game.
