Three Bradford Esprit Diving Club members took part in the 16th International Barcelona Diving Championships, with two of them winning medals.

All three were competing in their first outdoor event.

Twelve-year-old Sam Thornton won gold in each of his three events at his first international competition.

An impressive score of 40.7 on an excellent inward dive helped Sam to his first gold on the 1m springboard, followed by success on the 3m and the platform.

Joe Meszaros, 17, took silver on the 10m board after some outstanding dives, finishing fifth on the 3m and sixth on the 1m.

Elliot Holdsworth, 12, achieved personal bests in the 3m and platform catergories in his first competition against elite divers.
