Leeds United are hoping to get out of the blocks quicker when they face Walsall at Elland Road tomorrow night.
The manager and players are delighted with their 100 per-cent start in league and Carling Cup action but acting captain Jonny Howson acknowledges there is room for improvement, especially early in matches.
“We started slowly again against Wycombe on Saturday and could have been better on the ball but showed what we can do in the second half,” he said.
“Overall, we’re happy with the way we’ve started. We said before the season that we had to get off to a good start and find a level of consistency because that’s what gets you promoted.”
Simon Grayson is likely to stick with the same starting line-up against a Walsall side who have picked up four points in their first two games, beating Brighton and drawing at home to Southend thanks to a last-minute penalty from Sam Parkin.
The Saddlers’ disciplinary record is not so good this season, having already had Rhys Weston and Dwayne Maitland shown red cards.
Meanwhile, speculation is growing that two more Leeds players are heading for the exit. David Prutton and Tresor Kandol have been linked with Notts County.
