Farsley all-rounder Ashley Metcalfe is disappointed that Richard McCarthy is missing Sunday's JCT600 Bradford League Sovereign Health Care Priestley Cup semi-final.
Bradford & Bingley stalwart McCarthy was carried from the field with a hamstring injury last Saturday in their defeat against Farsley, also at Red Lane.
“You want to test yourself against the best, and Richard has been one of the outstanding performers in the Bradford League over the past 20 years,” said former Yorkshire opener Metcalfe.
Farsley might have shocked leaders Bingley last weekend but Metcalfe confessed: “It is going to be a very difficult game on Sunday.
“We will have our normal 11 out and must hope that we perform to our best while Bingley have an off-day.”
East Bierley’s chances of reaching the final have been hampered by the absence of Gharib Razak and Kez Ahmed.
Razak is getting married in Pakistan and Ahmed is his best man so both will miss the home match against Yeadon.
That will also affect Bierley second team’s bid to win the Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield for a record fourth successive year.
