Brighouse Town’s pre-season preparations are well underway and the club begin their warm-up games tomorrow after signing another two players during the week.

They are the latest players to arrive as manager Mark Brier and his staff have been on a huge recruitment drive.

Having established themselves on the non-league ladder last season, Town are pulling out all the stops to improve on their initial campaign.

Brier said: “We have signed Jamie Harrison from Worksop. He is a young player who has represented his county and Nottingham Schools.

"He is very talented and a good prospect as he is comfortable anywhere across the back four.

“To find a lad who is willing to travel 45 miles to play football for Brighouse Town tells me we are doing something right. It speaks volumes for what we achieved in our first season on the pyramid and the club’s potential.

“Goalkeeper Lee Williams has also decided to join us. He actually signed for us last season but suffered a bad injury and never played a game. Now he is ready to put Paul Brown under a bit of pressure.

“In fact, Brownie will be doing his Level Two coaching qualifications this summer and, because of that, will miss our first couple of games this coming season.

So if Lee does well and stakes a claim, we could have a real battle on our hands for the No 1 jersey and Brownie will rise to a challenge like that.”
