Thackley's hopes of beginning their pre-season campaign this weekend have been dashed.
They originally planned to host Whitley Bay but the north east club pulled out. Farsley Celtic and then Mexborough were pencilled in but those two also fell through.
Thackley spokesman John McCreary said: “Farsley have more on their mind than a friendly game at this moment so we planned to travel to Mexborough but they gave back-word on Wednesday evening.
“We tried to get someone else to play but at such short notice it was very difficult. All the clubs who wanted early friendlies were fixed up and the others weren’t ready to either travel or host a game.”

Local lads who play football have better things to do on a roasting saturday afternoon in the middle of summer. Man U havn't even gone back to training yet!!
Officials at these clubs need to wake up and realise lads really dont wanna play on bone hard pitches in 25 degree heat!!! Jeseus most clubs struggle to get anyone through turnstiles anyway...why would extending season to 10 months make things better???
