Jon McLaughlin's gold medal hopes at the World Student Games in Serbia have been dashed in a penalty shoot-out.
The City keeper saved the decisive spot-kick against France earlier in the week to put Great Britain through to the semi-finals.
But he finished on the wrong end of another tense finale as Ukraine edged into the final 6-5 on penalties.
Again the game had finished goalless after 120 minutes, which means McLaughlin has gone more than six hours of action without conceding.
He still has a chance of a medal when Britain take on Japan in the bronze match tomorrow.

This is a great record for any keeper at any level. Any chance of parker finding out the other players that played for great britain in this tournament. There might be some other good gems in there that we could look at - sighn - loan etc.

Don't get me wrong, he has still kept clean sheets against France and now Ukraine, but don't be overlead by Parker's journalism!
As for the other lads, it is an excellent idea and one that we should be looking into. Most players at that level do not play football professionally as they are students trying to graduate. This may be one area that we can tap into, even if just on a month's trial whilst university is finished. You never know, we could bring the next 'Dean Furman' to the club,
