Thackley have announced their list of pre-season friendlies and it should be a punishing schedule of eight games against opponents of varying difficulty beginning a week today.
First up was meant to be Whitley Bay at Dennyfield next Saturday but the north east outfit have dropped out.
They were also due to face Sleaford Town at home on Saturday, August 1 but that fixture has also been cancelled.
Committee member John McCreary said the club were already making progress to fill the two Saturdays.
August 8 is the date of the first competitive fixture but, like last year, the second Saturday game of the season is a tough away fixture in the FA Cup extra preliminary round.
After opening the pre-season at home, Thackley have planned their next three warm-up games away from Dennyfield.
They visit Askern Villa on Tuesday, July 14, journey over the Pennine peaks to take on Colne the following Saturday and then two days later travel to Glasshoughton Welfare.
The pre-season schedule should end with a run of four home games, with Eccleshill first up.
Assuming the first Saturday in August does get filled then Silsden and Kimberly Town provide the final two opponents for the friendlies.
