Whitehead to miss Tigers clash

Elliott Whitehead has been ruled out of the Bulls’ engage Super League match against Castleford Tigers on Sunday.

The 19-year-old picked up an injury to his left ankle during the derby defeat at Leeds Rhinos last Friday.

“I’m gutted,” said the second-rower, who had little chance at Headingley to show the skills which had been so impressive in his previous two first-team stints.

Whitehead explained: “I had only been on the pitch for about seven minutes. The injury happened when I was making a tackle.

“I went over on it and the Leeds player fell on top of me. I haven’t been able to do much since, although I have now started walking properly.

“Hopefully I will be available for the game at Hull KR the following weekend.”

Horton Bank Top-based Whitehead made his senior debut last month in the 36-22 defeat of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, featuring for the final four minutes.

The England Academy international then got much more of an opportunity in the Bulls’ 21-10 victory at Warrington the following week.

“I must have been on for about half an hour,” said West Bowling product Whitehead.

“I thought it went well and some of the lads said positive things to me afterwards.”

While the last seven days might not have brought good news for Whitehead, there could be better news for both Wayne Godwin and Julien Rinaldi.

Godwin has been out for 15 weeks with a broken leg but impressed in last weekend’s Reserve Grade victory at Headingley, while Rinaldi has had a foot injury.

“It’s too early to say for definite but both have a shout of figuring for us on Sunday,” said Bulls head coach Steve McNamara.

Really bad luck for the kid. Just hope Macca keeps him at the forefront as soon as he is fit again and gets him straight back in the squad.

Totally agree Haitch, he has looked good in the games he has played and needs to be straight back in once fit. Like to see Danaldson given a chance as well sooner rather than later or we will lose him.

We wont lose him, he's Macca's golden boy. It wouldn't suprise me to see Donaldson follow Macca around whereever he goes if they remain in Super League.

He didn't look big enough to me either when I saw him warming up with the 1st team last friday.

Tiny for a loose.

Sure he might grow a bit though.

There's only one way to tell with all these kids. Give them a run and sort them out. The good ones will soon show there mettle.
Macca should put Whitehead straight back in for rest of season whereupon his ability will be seen.

Agree he is a bit small but apparently pretty quick and has a decent kicking game?

Absolutely Howard. There's never been a better exponent or promoter of the off-the-ball block.

May the refs continue to be blind to it.

All hail Senior!!

I'll give him a clap, it's a fantastic rugby achievement that has given everything for his club in over 10 seasons with them.

Shame we haven't got anybody that has had the same impact at their club as Senior has at Leeds.

Always said you were a whino in diguise. The bloke wouldn't get a sniff at centre for the mighty Bulls. Nero and Sykes for world domination.

Now you are educated you can go on the Southstander website and be the only one on there that is.

Had the bloke played for any other side I may have applauded the fact, however he plays for scum and I am afraid to say I will never praise anything that comes out of Shedingley.
See you can't put a post on without an insult still. It must be that Uni education that made you so angry.
Would love to see the alleged doccumentation that shows you were at Uni as somehow I think it may be a little fictional.

What does it matter who he plays for he's a superb player that has made a superb achievement. You're that much of a little man that you can't evn bring yourself to applaud sporting excellence.

A sad sad act of the highest order.

I bet you're one of these that takes more enjoyment out of his rivals losing than his own team winning.

Yes if it a meaningless game for BFD I would love to see scum loose to Celtic or the likes. Nothing wrong with that but I would never applaud anything that comes from shedingley ai is a bit like how a cat hates a dog it is bred into you unless you are a borderline Bulls fan which I am afraid you are.
Have you learned about place kicking yet????
I really have managed to get up your nose haven't I all these "little man" comments etc. I love it.It's a shame that you have become so bitter as you are actually posting some semi sensible posts of late. Was it Oxford or Cambridge you went to by the way?

You'd love to see scum do what against Celtic?

Loose? As in loose women?

Did you mean to say LOSE?

Sorry, do you want to tell me what 'ai' is meant to mean in that sentence?, in my uni education I have never come across that.

You massive spaz!! You can't even get your own command of the English language in order yet you come on here and criticise others. You look like a right d1ck head now.

You? Get up my nose? Don't flatter yourself, youre the one that picks up on every little thing I say, and never comments on anything to do with rugby. Really, I'm right up your nose

BTW, There's nothing wrong with applauding a fantastic achievement from a fantastic player, you obviously don't appreiciate quality when you see it. You must be stilla rookie supporter.

No, stilla - still a, is a typing error.

'Loose' instead of 'lose', is a spelling error ..you've had me in stitches with that one.

It wouldn't have been so bad if you didn't think your own command of English was top of the tree when quite frankly mistaking 'loose' for 'lose' is as amatuerish as they come.

Cheers for the laugh you massive dope, It cheered me up ten fold when I read that after the game.

'AI' a keying error(pfftt), is 'as' the word you were looking for, a little hint for you, S is at the opposite end from I, it's right next to 'A'.

Keying errors, hahahahahahahahahaah
ahahah.

Hahahahahahahaha.

Anyhow, this isn't an English lesson.

But just remember, next time you try to be a smart **** and think you're gods gift to an Oxford dictionary, try writing something with complete accuracy and something that isn't riddled with poor spelling otherwise somebody might just easily pick up on it and expose you as a complete and utter bell end. (Again)
