We can't let Leeds play like we let Saints

Jamie Langley column: Going to Leeds is always going to be a tough encounter but remains one of those really exciting games and a highlight of the calendar every year.

All the lads look forward to playing over at Headingley; it’s got a great atmosphere but you have got to be on top form.

If you play anything less than that you’re going to be in for a tough day at the office at Leeds. It’s one we’re looking forward to and hopefully we’ll put in the performance we all want to.

We let ourselves down over the duration of the game against Saints.

With them having so much quality with ball, we played into their hands a bit with play one turnovers and penalties late on in the tackle count.

It led to us being quite fatigued in defence and they have got some good athletes carrying the ball forward.

They just started poking their noses through and a team like that are good enough to turn opportunities into points.

We can’t do the same against Rhinos and it’s a good incentive to put a better performance in tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, Stu Barrow defeated Paul Medley with a sublime panacota taste of Italy in the bake-off quarters.

I think his presentations get him through the event though. His food is good but the way he describes it, all the ingredients and flavours he comes up with, it’s obvious he really seems to put his heart and soul into it all.

Unfortunately for Medders, who believe it or not came up with another alcohol-based dish for the fourth round on the trot, he didn’t get through.

We’ll be making the semi-final draw early next week so we’ll see who comes up trumps.

We’ve just got a mini kick-tennis comp going after training with a few teams in pairs.

Me and Rikki – the Afros – are undefeated and welcoming any contenders. There’s the Welsh pair of Dave Halley and Kopczak – some cracks appearing there already – the young guns of Sam and Elliott Whitehead, Jules and Semi are the France/Fijian combo but it’s the Afros doing all the damage.
