Former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif is the latest player to sign up for the first-ever Twenty20 match at Elland Road.

Rashid is joined by ex-international team-mates Mohammed Akram, the former Surrey pace bowler, and spinner Saqlain Mushtaq in a star-studded Leeds United International XI.

They are set to take on a Lashings World XI at Elland Road on Friday, July 31 (6pm).

The Leeds team will be skippered by West Indian batsman and former Yorkshire star Richie Richardson.

West Indies pace legend Courtney Walsh is also representing United, along with former England opening batsman Nick Knight and ex-Yorkshire and England bowler Paul Jarvis.

The Lashings squad boasts a host of cricketing stars, including Chris Harris, Alvin Kallicharan, Devon Malcolm, Graeme Hick, Phil DeFreitas, Henry Olonga, Stuart Law, Ed Giddins, Gordon Greenidge, John Emburey and former Yorkshire players Ian Harvey, Jason Gillespie and Greg Blewett.

Leeds United football manager Simon Grayson could also make a guest appearance against Lashings, with further signings to be announced in the coming weeks.

The ground-breaking game will be played under Twenty20 rules and tickets are now available at £10 adults and £5 juniors. The number to call is 08713-341992, or e-mail tickets@leedsunited.com.
