Nostell MW 1, Eccleshill United 2
Eccleshill left it too late to return to winning ways as yesterday’s victory, however remarkable it may be, cannot lift them out of the bottom two in the Kool Sport NCEL Premier
Division.
It was remarkable in another way as United scored all three goals in the game. The home side were aided by an own goal from Chris Bates but the Eagles won thanks to a brace from Andy Howland.
“We are happy that we have ended a run of indifferent results by getting a win,” said Eagles spokesman Mark Holstead.
“Once again it was earned under difficult circumstances because we were down to a 12-man squad. Two of the players had to pull out late in the day but our manager Ray Price was pleased with the performance.”
