City reserves 5 York reserves 1
Despite having played a Blue Square Premier League game the previous evening, FA Trophy finalists York City arrived at the Coral Windows Stadium with a side containing several players
with first-team experience.
This was matched by an equally strong City side, with Chris Brandon, Paul Arnison, Joe Colbeck and Lee Bullock all starting this totesport.com League East clash.
City took the lead in the 39th minute when Brandon headed home from close range and three minutes later Kyle Nix rifled the ball into the back of the net from inside the area.
The visitors went in 3-0 down at the break when Sean Taylforth crossed to Leon Osborne, who finished from close range.
City scored a fourth in the 67th minute when Christian Smith turned the ball past his own keeper and Rory Boulding made it five in the 73rd minute when he latched onto the ball inside the area and finished with a half volley.
York grabbed a late consolation when Liam Shepherd fired home a free-kick following a foul on the edge of the area by Simon Ainge.
City reserves: McLaughlin, Arnison (Bleau), Taylforth, Nix, Ainge, Bellamy, Colbeck, Bullock (Sharry), R Boulding, Osborne, Brandon (Dean). Subs not used: Convey, Harrison.

I'm going to start supporting the reserves!

Waynus the reserves have won three previous games- 7-1 against GRIMsby, 2-0 at sCUNThorpe, and 1-0 at home against sCUNThorpe!
