Celtic hit back as Cuedos are tamed

Buttershaw Celtic overcame awful weather conditions to end the unbeaten Bradford Sunday Alliance League record of Cuedos Rangers.

The DIVISION 1A contest ended 2-1 in favour of fourth-placed visitors Buttershaw, whose promotion push was aided by goals from Michael Kane and Michael Nicholson.

This was after leaders Cuedos had gone in front through a Lee Taylor free-kick in the second half.

Third-placed Mill Lane and mid-table visitors Wibsey WMC were also involved in a tight contest, with Mark Constardine’s hat-trick eventually securing a 4-2 win for the hosts.

Craig Brearley had twice given Wibsey the lead but Constardine’s treble, the first from the penalty spot, and Josh Milner turned the tables.

Fiddlers Three enhanced their position in second with a 6-3 victory at lowly Kings Arms, for whom Mark Regan scored twice.

Adam Tomlinson was back on the goal trail after a ten-week lay-off as Thackley Shoulder won 2-0 at rock-bottom Hudsons, with Aaron Parsons also target.

A Paul Moorehouse hat-trick was added to by Jonathan Hicks as Seven Stars edged out Bolton Woods Socials 4-3, while a brace each from Mick Loxam, Simon Inch and Jason Rayner earned George Hotel a 6-2 victory over Victoria Rangers.

DIVISION 1B leaders Allerton proved too powerful for mid-table Bolton Junction Inn, with Jody Crompton’s hat-trick helping destroy the hosts 5-1.

FC George took a two-goal lead against Gaping Goose through James Royle and Kyle McGinnis’s first for the club, only to finish up 5-2 adrift. Denis Phillips (2), Andy Garland, Ryan Tempest and Ashley Delaney on his debut turned the tide.

Kevin Saunders struck for bottom side Wibsey WMC B but it was only a consolation as Prospect hit five in reply, while Jamie Lee and Michael Ferguson were the respective scorers for Dudley Hill Reserves and Royal Clayton in a 1-1 draw.

Draw specialists Saltaire Rangers (Brent Netzler, Tony Coope, Chris Sutcliffe penalty) and Junction Thornbury (Danny Fisher, Danny Robinson, Ryan Dennis penalty) shared six goals in a cracking contest.

In the PREMIER DIVISION, struggling Campion Park Avenue scored through Trinity Brown but visitors Tyersal netted twice in reply to edge the points.

Silsden have now gone four matches unbeaten, with Queensbury A their latest victims 2-1 thanks to goals by Adam Whiteoake and Daniel Finn.

West Bowling climbed to third place with a 3-2 victory at fellow high-fliers Relay Recruitment Rovers as goals by Phil Brogan, Corry Larvin and Chris Wood proved decisive.

Westwood Park’s winning run in DIVISION ONE was halted at Wyke Wanderers, who had Ian Bell (2) and Reece Harben to thank for their goals in a 3-2 outcome.

Zahid Youniss, Chimo Monondo and an own goal earned White Eagles a 3-1 win at Wrose Bull.

Thornton moved six points clear at the top after beating Great Northern 2-0, the second versus third clash between Hare Hounds/Power and Baildon Trinity Athletic having finished honours even at 1-1.
