Membership books are available for Wibsey Angling Centre at £12 for seniors, £8 for juniors and OAPs. The Milby Cut Canal is fishing very well for roach. There has been a new entry made at Dye House Dam. It is now from Dyehouse Road and is an improvement of existing entry.
SALTAIRE AA
Members are reporting good catches of chub and barbel from the lower end of the River Aire. To book on for Sunday’s river match, please phone John on 07878230394. Members are reminded to contact David Brazendale for access to Tong Park.
LISTERHILLS AA
For Sunday’s match at Pilley’s Dam the gate will be open at 8.30am, with the draw at 8.45am. There will be a working party at this venue in the near future and volunteers will be required. Leeds Amalgamation membership is available all year round and there is no entry fee.
IDLE & THACKLEY AA
There is an open match on the River Swale at Swainby this Sunday. For bookings, call 615016. Results of match on February 19: 1 J Leyland 9lb (one barble 8lb 3), 2 E Loftus 5lb 7oz, 3 M Prudhoe 4lb 5oz. The winter aggregate was won by John Leyland with 88 points. Second was Mark Balderstone on 86.
HEWENDEN AC
Draw for this Sunday’s pike match on the near side will be 9am in the car park. The AGM will be on March 31 at the Star pub in Bingley at 8pm, supper included. Some nice pike were taken last Sunday with Jacko leading the way with split tale at 15½lb and Potter and Pingu with fish to 10lb on mackerel. Pegs five to 14 on 34 to 37 worth a try. Roach and perch nets to 4lb from pegs 21 to 25 with pinkie over hemp are doing the trick.
BRADFORD NO 1 AA
The result of the match at Beal on Sunday: 1 N Smith, 2 I Bland, 3 A Sugden. The next match is at Cowthorpe on March 8. Raskelf is worth a visit, with a good catch of tench reported last week.
KEIGHLEY AC
Last week’s match on the river at Steeton was won by home member M Metcalfe with 5lb 13oz. The winning peg was number ten above the dry beck end. Mostly greyling were netted, with several weighing over 1½lb caught on float-fished maggot. Runner-up was D Rowell (Bingley AC) with 3lb 7oz and third was T Greenwood (Keighley AC) on 2lb 50z. There is a match on Saturday at Kildwick, draw on Kildwick bridge at 9.30am. Ring Steve on 01535 648793 to book.
