Vision’s under-nine goal king Brandon Thompson managed to score in two matches on the same day in the Huddersfield League.
He led Shelf Juniors a merry dance by hitting a hat-trick for the A team in their 5-1 victory, helped by fellow marksmen Kieron Baker and Harrison Moon.
Thompson then popped up as a sub for the B side, hitting another goal as they kept their 100 per cent record with a 2-1 triumph over Shelf C.
Goalkeeper Joseph Wade was Vision’s man of the match, Alfie Morgan hitting their other goal.
Vision’s under-ten A team went to the top of their division after a 3-0 victory at YMCA A on a bitterly cold day, man of the match Tyrone Sagar bagging a treble, although keeper Ben Foster was in good form too.
Elliot Hinchliffe netted five for the B team, who also went to the summit after their 6-4 verdict over YMCA B, man of the match Cameron Keenan getting the other.
In another top-of-the-table clash, Vision under-11s produced a gritty display to end visitors Howden Clough’s six-match winning run.
Michael Hosty and Tom Bentham put Vision 2-0 ahead before half-time and the points seemed safe when Aiden Craythorne’s 20-yard shot made it 3-0.
However, Howden replied twice and it needed a Ryan Whitfield tap-in to give Vision some breathing space before Howden netted again. Defender Ben Adams was Vision’s man of the match on a gluepot pitch.
Bradford United, who could only field ten players due to injury and illness, certainly weren’t lacking spirit in their visit to Under-12 Division Two leaders HAFC, despite ending up losing 10-0.
And, even worse, United lost their goalkeeper after 20 minutes, putting them down to nine players. Given all that, it was one of United’s most gutsy displays of the season.
However, their under-17s were below par in their Division One encounter at home to Clifton Rangers, losing 2-1 – their first defeat of the season. Ben Bodle, who scored United’s goal, was their man of the match.
Bradford United’s under-sevens broke their home duck in the Keybury League with a 4-0 victory over Bradford Tigers.
Cameron Brewster put United ahead with a first-half chip and Ali Arshad, Brewster and Jack Fairlie added to the tally in the second half.
Defender Felan Panwar and goalkeeper Jack Brimacombe, who made an outstanding save, impressed for United.
A last-minute own goal at Idle from a deflected corner ensured Bradford United kept their 100 per cent record in the Under-Eight White Division.
Man of the Match George Wood made sure Idle didn’t have too many chances and it was his corner that produced the goal. Jamie Broom and Joshua Nunney were excellent for Idle.
Both goalkeepers shone in Albion Sports’ 5-2 defeat at Leeds Maccabi, Raaj Sandhu being in form for the losers. Spencer Gordon and Nathaniel Hendricks reduced the arrears to 3-2 but Maccabi netted two late efforts.
United’s under-nines were 4-0 ahead inside ten minutes at Guiseley on the way to a 12-2 victory. Goalscorers were Joel Steele (4), Mason Kirby (2), Kietan Shergill (2), Owen Clark (penalty), Jordan Broadbent (2) and Jonathon Holmes. Broadbent and Steele shared the man of the match.
Half-time substitute Callum Towriss netted twice, including a late winner, in United’s 3-2 Under-Tens' Red Division victory at East Bowling.
Jack Mongan also netted, while United goalkeeper Nathan Allatt caught the eye. Nathan Dunn was man of the match.
Scholemoor Scorpions kept up their unbeaten run going by taking a point in an entertaining game against Thackley Dragons, Nathan Taylor firing home from 20 yards and Lewis Coulson being man of the match for a brilliant display of defending.
Campion had a great 6-1 win against Thackley Storm, goals coming from Jake Croft (2), Declan Kirwan (2), Joshua Copley and Theo Morris.
Meanwhile, Eccleshill Falcons ran out 2-0 winners after a strong second-half performance from forwards Callum Marshall, Brandon Mozley and man of the match Aidan McLoughlin, who got both goals.
Ricardo Macor netted four in a 5-2 victory for Bradford United under-11s at Nab Wood. However, the best goal came last with a sweetly-struck left-foot shot from Alex Bannon. Pemphero Kallingama was man of the match.
Zain Mushtaq was on target for Albion Sports under-11s in their 4-1 defeat at Guiseley in the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League – Albion’s first away defeat for 18 months.
Ryan Singh was Albion’s man of the match, although keeper Stephen Fearnley pulled off some stunning saves. BD3 United drew 2-2 at Farsley Celtic, Krishan Patel scoring both.
Campion Juniors under-12s had another close game, winning 4-3 at Thackley thanks to a brace apiece for Malikia Hodgson and man of the match Dioko Gloddy.
Farsley Celtic, beaten 10-0 at home by Bradford Tigers in the first match of the Under-12 B Division season, showed just how much they have improved when the teams played the reverse fixture.
At 2-1 down on a gluepot pitch at Avenue Road, Celtic looked the more likely team to score. However, they could never find a way past dominant centre half James Townend and conceded a goal in virtually the last action of the match when Dillon Graham slid home a well-flighted Lucas Clayden cross.
A left-footed Luke Duckett curler and a well-placed Jordan Kitching shot had twice given Tigers the lead. Rosie McDonnell was Tigers’ man of the match.
BD3 United under-13s produced their best performance of the season, winning 3-1 at leaders Sedbergh. M Israr, M Hamza and Usman Khan got the goals.
Nab Wood A, depleted and heavily beaten in an under-14 friendly the previous week by Silsden A, suffered a 10-3 defeat at home to their B team in the league, Jed Cooper winning the man of the match award.
BD3 United under-15s had a 13-1 home win over Keighley Dragons, Saeed Hussain and Zeeshan Mahmood both getting hat-tricks.
Fairbank United upped their game in the second half to beat visitors Nab Wood Rangers 4-2, marksmen being man of the match Umaer Aslam (2), Abbas Khan (penalty) and Lariab Khan.
Adam Wood was Campion under-17s’ man of the match in their 4-0 defeat of Silsden A, Aaron Metcalfe and Andy Hawker each netting twice.
Gareth Thompson (2) and Misbah Chowdrey gave Undercliffe Celtic a 3-0 victory over Sandy Lane.
