Goalkeeper Sohail Hussein was the hero for Albion Sports in their Craven, Aire & Wharfe League Under-16 Cup tie against Farsley Celtic.

Albion went ahead with defender Arik Glodek’s first goal for the club and Celtic hit back but were stunned when Albion scored again – created by Ryan Singh and finished off by Abas Anzam.

In the second half, Farsley netted a well-created effort and got a penalty in the 89th minute, which was excellently saved by Hussein

Silsden B cruised past Menston Rovers in their under-14 tie, even though they went 1-0 down. However, by half-time it was 6-1, Luke Wilson (2), Kyle Moulson (2), Chris Rudden and captain Zak Conway netting. Wilson and Moulson also scored in the second half, Adam Cooper being man of the match.

Campion under-14s recovered from 3-1 down at half-time to win 5-3 at Crossley. On target for Campion were Dhaniel Mahmood (2), Mamun Miah (2) and Haseeb Rehman.

A brilliant team performance from Campion under-12s helped them to a 9-1 win over Undercliffe. Goals were from man of the match Dioko Gloddy (2), Malikia Hodgson (2), Mohammed Yasin (2), Zain Bashir (2) and Ibraheem Hafejee.

Silsden’s Under-13 A team weren’t quite as emphatic in their second-round contest but still went through after defeating Guiseley Blues 9-4. David Hunt, Dylan Budge and James Lee put Silsden 3-0 up inside 15 minutes, Budge and Hunt then making it 5-0.

Guiseley pulled one back before half-time only for Josh Brown, Josh Metcalfe and Budge to stretch the margin to 8-1.

However, with 15 minutes left, a Guiseley purple patch yielded three goals before Brown netted again.

Albion Sports Under-12s suffered because of their three-week lay-off and lost 9-2 to Horsforth Colts.

Sports and Otley Town drew a great contest 3-3, despite heavy rain and cold conditions. Sports took a 2-0 lead in the first half through Zain Mushtaq’s solos.

Otley replied early in the second half, only for Mushtaq to complete his hat-trick. However, two late Otley goals earned them a replay. Defender Aaron Day was Albion’s man of the match.

In the league, Eccleshill United Under-12s won 11-3 at Shipley Tigers, Toby Riley bagging six, Cameron Hall three and Lewie Papworth one, the other being an own goal.

Thackley Thunder under-eights kept up their unbeaten start to the Keybury League with a 9-0 win at Oakworth, where the marksmen were Michael Stewart (4), Daniel Frost (3), Joshua Barrett and Lewis Collet, keeper Will Cummings getting the man of the match award.

Nab Wood Albion went down 3-2 at home to Thackley Thunder under-nines, Joshua Debenham (2) and Jack Gascoigne netting for the winners.

Albion Sports won 5-1 at Campion, Nathaniel Hendricks and man of the match Spencer Gordon being on target in the first half for Albion.

Further goals from Jacob McNulty, Gordon and an own goal completed the tally. Reuben Cheema was excellent at the back for Albion, Reece Ellington netting Campion’s penalty.

Unlucky Bradford United under-nines were 2-0 down before they woke up at Wilsden and ended up losing 4-3.

Liam Brook (2) levelled for United, however, and they went into the interval at 3-3 after Josh Hall scored direct from a corner.

Bradford United’s under-tens, for whom Callum Towriss was man of the match, lost 1-0 at home to Scholemoor Scorpions in awful conditions, midfielder and skipper Phemelo Ncube scoring the only goal.

Campion under-tens had a 7-0 win over Wilsden in blustery conditions. Goals came from Declan Kirwan, Joshua Copley, Cameron Parker, Theo Morris (2) and Jake Croft (2).

Queensbury Cougars under-tens were beaten 2-0 by Horsforth Earthquakes, while Queensbury Colts defeated Horsforth Tornadoes 5-1.

Scorers were Luke Harrison, Nathaniel Shillingford (2) and man of the match Joe Beardsley (2).

In-form Albion Sports under-tens were electric in their 9-1 defeat of Thackley Storm, first-half goals coming from Avi Patel (2) and man of match Michael Ngwenya.

Second-half efforts came from Kyle Trenerry, Jack Stead, Avraj Basi, Zak Guy, Bradley Jones and Hisham Malik.

Campion under-11s beat Oakworth 10-2, marksmen being man of the match Shabaz Shabir (4), Faris Hussain (2), Hassan Dad (2), Sharjeel Hamid and Sheyaar Bhatti.

Bradford United under-12s conceded their Huddersfield League cup tie to Shelf because of illness but United’s under-17s won their tie 8-3 at Thornhill after goals from Dominic McCory (2), Isaac Nash, Ben Johnson, Jamie Taylor, Ben Bodle, man of the match James Panter and goalkeeper Billy Keenan, who scored from the penalty spot.

Albion Sports’ under-15s notched their first win of the season in surprising circumstances, defeating Penistone, who are two divisions higher, 5-4 in the League Cup after trailing 4-1 at half-time.

Ryan Minshull (2), Joshua Stoyles (2) and captain Damion Ivory got the goals but pacy winger and man of match Tobias Alam set up most of them.

An excellent double save from Jospeh Wade enabled Vision under-nine B to defeat Drighlington A 2-1 in the cup, Alfie Morgan getting both Vision’s goals.

Vision A won 10-0 at Norristhorpe B with goals from Harrison Moon (4), MacKenzie Taylor (3), Brandon Thompson (2) and Harry Heinz.

A superb free-kick by Joseph Lawrence gave Vision under-tens B a 1-0 victory over Honley A in their cup tie but they also had keeper Harvey Brown to thank. Vision under-11s began their defence of the cup with an 11-0 victory over Third Division Yorkshire Lions.

Man of the match Tom Bentham started the scoring 30 seconds in and also got Vision’s last four minutes from time.

Other goal-scorers were Callum Docherty (4), James Morris (2) and Caden Wilkinson (2). Vision goalkeeper Leon Thompson only touched the ball twice.

James Cook, Joe Kitson and Nico Carucci gave third-placed Farsley Celtic under-14s a 3-0 half-time lead over Kirkstall Crusaders in the Garforth League.

Farsley keeper Oli Beard made two great saves in the second half but couldn’t stop Crusaders’ late consolation.
