Crossflatts maintained their leadership of Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One with a comfortable win at home to Embsay.
They made 182 for six, Rashid Ayub leading the way with a fine 84 as Duncan Ward took four for 48. Only Bob Bateman (31) offered much resistance for the visitors as they tumbled to a disappointing 112 all out. Mick Addy finished with five for 39 and Ayub completed a fine all-round performance with four for 21.
Second-placed Bradley slipped up badly at home to bottom-of-the-table Barrowford.
They did the hard work by restricting the Bull Holme side to 111 as James Heseltine finished with five for 24 and Matty Simpson four for 45.
The Red Rose side opened the bowling with leg spinner Mark Atkinson (4-25) and he whipped out both openers for ducks. John Cant (4-19) enjoyed even better figures as the hosts crashed to 90 all out.
Moving above Bradley are Culling-worth and Oakworth. The former travelled to Cononley and on a difficult wicket restricted the home side to 111, the evergreen Dave Robinson taking three for 12.
The Greenwood Terrace side also struggled with the bat but Chris Welch made 34 before Phil Poole hit 25 not out to see the visitors to the points by three wickets despite Mick Hagyard producing five for 25 figures.
There was a touch of deja-vu at Cure Hill where Cowling were the visitors. In the corresponding match earlier in the season, Oakworth’s Tim Walsh played a big part in his side snatching victory by one wicket after being virtually down and out.
Cowling went first again and posted 134 with skipper Ben Thurston making 40 as Jason Bilbrough claimed six for 25.
Oakworth were struggling on 73 for eight before Walsh got to work again, finishing on 47 not out as his side won again by one wicket despite the efforts of Steve Richardson (6-55).
Glusburn’s slide down the table continues after they lost at home to Bingley Congs. The Beckfoot side scored 160 with ex-Kent and England man Alan Igglesden top-scoring with 32 as youngster Richard Golson took four for 23.
The Park Field side were going reasonably well at 90 for four before five wickets fell for the addition of nine runs as they were dismissed for 118. Neil Copping took top billing among the Congs bowling with five for 52.
Wynn Cup finalists Thornton amassed 233 for five at home to Sandy Lane as Kev Pollard made exactly 100. However, the Greenwood Park side were undaunted by the challenge and got home by one wicket with five balls to spare as both Wayne Exley and M Jamil scored 51.
Previously undefeated leaders of Division Two Haworth Road missed the opportunity to clinch promotion when they entertained Long Lee.
Things were looking good when they dismissed the Keighley side for 85 with Shami Ali taking five for 21. However, the visitors hadn’t read the script as they knocked over the Baildon Bottom side for just 59 with Jamie Robinson taking five for 25 and Matt Taylor four for 16.
Second-placed Haworth travelled to Foulridge and won by two wickets but it was third-placed Ingrow who postponed the leaders’ celebrations.
They made 156 for eight at home to Chatburn before Dale Hoyle claimed five for 24 to help dismiss the Ribble Valley side back for just 62.
