Steve Webster, fishing peg one, has been catching tench on feeder and worm. The club has also stocked 5,000 chub in the lake. Please handle with care and take note of rule ten. ECCLESHILL ANGLING The anglers ended up as wet as the fish in the latest match of the evening series at No-Go-Bye farm. Heavy rain throughout the match may have dampened the anglers but not the appetite of the fish. Results: 1 L Helliwell 43lb10oz (peg 23), 2 G Kinder 37lb 4oz (peg 11), 3 S Hawkins 33lb 8oz (peg 8), 4 C Evans 30lb 2oz (peg 3). The next match is on Thursday, drawing at 5.30pm.
WASHBURN VALLEY FISHERY The heaviest fish caught this week was a 7lb rainbow trout by G Sanderson using green fritz. Fewston: Still high water restricting access, buzzers and nymphs tempting the bigger fish. Swinsty: Water levels dropping allowing more access. Mayfly nymph, bibio and pleasant tail taking fish. Thruscross: Wild brown trout, although smaller and harder to catch than rainbow, give great sport. Small nymphs and wets, bibio and black pennel might fool them.
