Sanasy back to haunt old club

Guiseley 0, Worksop Town 3

A stuttering home performance was not what was needed against a side blessed with a huge helping of luck that could do no wrong in front of goal.

Guiseley went down badly as Worksop Town plundered all three points from their visit to Nethermoor.

Worksop harried and hassled every time a Guiseley man had the ball. It was an ethic that paid off against the underperforming hosts.

Terry Dolan's men were first to produce a chance - a header from leading scorer James Hanson following a flick-on from strike partner Mark Smith, which brought a save from the visitors' goalkeeper.

It was a misleading beginning, however, as Worksop took the lead in the fifth minute through old boy Kevin Sanasy.

It was a good finish from the former Bantams youth, who has plied his trade at Nethermoor, Bradford Park Avenue and Farsley Celtic, following his release from Valley Par-ade.

A Hanson header was saved at full stretch by the Town stopper and James Kay was just wide of the target when a Dominic Krief cross was only half-cleared.

But Worksop went into the break 2-0 up, Steve Wooley netting their second.

Guiseley responded but Mark Bett's left-foot shot hit the bar. Either side of the interval, Krief, Hanson and Bett were all foiled by saves from the visitors' goalkeeper.

Worksop capped their win with a third from Tom Burridge in the 77th minute.
