Farsley 1, Barrow 1
Farsley will breathe a sigh of relief that they are still in this FA Cup fourth qualifying-round tie but will also be aware what a lift Barrow will have taken from the events.
Having held their Blue Square Premier hosts, Barrow were in the first-round proper as an either or and Tuesday's replay will have an added edge now that the winners know they face Bournemouth at home.
If Farsley wish to welcome the Coca-Cola League One strugglers they will have to lift their effort and commitment to a higher level after underperforming at Throstle Nest.
Barrow could be excused for feeling disappointed they are not already preparing for a visit from the south coast full-timers. Had they held on to their half-time lead for three minutes longer they would have been.
The Cumbrians broke the deadlock in the 41st minute after forcing a corner. The flag-kick was swung into a packed area, a goal-bound header was parried on the line but Nick Rogan reacted to net the loose ball.
Celts keeper Tom Morgan made another save, strong arms forcing the ball away, that he was more fortunate to see go safe. Barrow also saw a chipped shot dip onto Morgan's bar.
A flash of inspiration got the Celts back into the game as the minutes ticked away for the nervous home supporters.
Substitute Tristram Whitman produced a trick on the edge of the area to get the ball into the danger area and Damien Reeves netted the equaliser with a back-heeled stab.
Farsley manager Lee Sinnott said: "Their goal was scrappy but so was ours. After that performance we are delighted to still be in with a chance.
"Barrow had a game plan when they came here and they executed it very well. They will have their tails up for Tuesday because they will be at home. You could tell from the reaction of their supporters at the end of the game.
"Look at the Harrogate derby, in which Railway beat Town 2-1. That is the unpredictability of the FA Cup; the team that wants it most is usually successful.
"We can't afford to make the same mistake again in the replay, we have to show the total desire that Barrow showed in this game.
"We all had a long chat after the game and things needed to be said because in all honesty we didn't get into gear.
"There was a time, not so long ago, that this club would have been happy to get a draw against a club of Barrow's stature. Now, just because we are division higher, it is not stitched on that we will win.
"Anything you get in this game has to be earned and that goes for respect as well as results."
