GARY Bowyer remains hopeful new deals for two players from last season can go through without any hitches.

Contracts have been on the table for Luca Colville and Jermaine Anderson since the end of the last campaign as the Bantams look to bounce back from their relegation from League One.

Former Huddersfield Town youngster Colville, who originally joined the Bantams on trial last summer, remains in City's plans after impressing during his season at the club.

Meanwhile, Anderson is still mulling over a City contract offer after impressing Bowyer following his stint at the club which started in January.

The former Peterborough United midfielder, who spent the first half of the season at League One Doncaster Rovers, is looking to kickstart his career after already overcoming two serious knee injuries in his career. He scored in a rare end-of-season victory for City at Scunthorpe United.

Bowyer remains confident he can tie down both Colville and Anderson to new deals before the club reports back for pre-season training on June 24.

He said: "From our point of view, they are still ongoing. I don't see there being any problem with either of them.

"But until it's done we've got to keep talking with them."

Danny Devine has already committed his future to the Valley Parade side with a new one-year deal.

The 21-year-old midfielder made six appearances for the Bantams during the last campaign, as his season was riddled with injuries.

Three of those came in the league, with two coming in the FA Cup and then a full 90 minutes in the League Cup.

The Bradford-born player made his first start in a City shirt for over two years against Scunthorpe in the penultimate game of the season.

Bowyer says he hopes to sign 'one or two' more players to bolster his ranks over the coming days.

Meanwhile, the City boss says he is looking forward to new signing Zeli Ismail getting Bantams fans off their seats next season.

The former Blackburn Rovers boss said: "We've got to try to get more wingers in the building.

"We only had Sean Scannell last year.

"Zeli can play on the wing or in the number 10 position as well. We need players with technical ability throughout the course of the season.

"We need to get ourselves different personnel to suit different formations.

"I have known Zeli for a long time. I watched him as a kid at Wolves. He has got talent. It is up to me to work with him on the training pitch to get it from him on a more consistent basis."

City have made four new signings to date during pre-season with defenders Tyler French and Ben Richards-Everton, plus goalkeeper Sam Hornby, joining before Ismail.
