JOHN Kear and three of his Bradford Bulls players have been nominated for the end-of-season Betfred League One awards.

Kear has been nominated alongside former Bulls player Leon Pryce (Workington Town), in his first year at the helm, and James Ford (York City Knights) in the Coach of the Year category.

Mercurial half-back Dane Chisholm is one of four players named in the Player of the Year section, with York's Ben Cockayne and Connor Robinson included along with Workington Town's Sean Penkywicz.

However, the Bulls dominate the Young Player of the Year, with winger Ethan Ryan and stand-off or full back Brandon Pickersgill up against York's Judah Mazive.

In the Betfred Championship, Halifax head coach Richard Marshall, who won the award in 2015, is shortlisted alongside London Broncos’ Danny Ward, in his first year as head coach of the club, and Sylvain Houles of Toulouse Olympique XIII.

All three coaches successfully led their sides into the Super 8s Qualifiers.

The four-man shortlist for Player of the Year award features Toulouse duo, full back Mark Kheirallah and half-back Johnathon Ford, who won the League One Player of the Year in 2016 – alongside Halifax captain Scott Murrell and Featherstone Rovers' Luke Briscoe.

Brandon Moore, of Halifax, is nominated for the Young Player of the Year Award for the second consecutive year. Sheffield Eagles’ Matt Costello and Harry Newman of Featherstone Rovers are also named in the three-man shortlist.

The winners will be announced at the 2018 Betfred Championship and League One annual dinner in Manchester on Tuesday, September 25.
