LATEST: David Hopkin appointed new Bradford City head coach

DAVID Hopkin is set to be named Bradford City's next head coach, the Telegraph & Argus understands.

The 47-year-old took Livingston to back-to-back promotions in Scotland before leaving in May when his contract was up.

Hopkin remains City's record buy after signing for £2.5 million from Leeds in July 2000 during Geoffrey Richmond's so-called "six weeks of madness" before the second Premiership season.

But the Scottish international suffered a bad ankle injury in a League Cup tie against Darlington in September.

He started only twice more before joining Crystal Palace for £1.5 million the following March.

Hopkin was linked with the City vacancy during the summer although it is unclear whether the interest got as far as an interview.

Chairman Edin Rahic revealed that City will name the boss on Tuesday following Monday night's announcement that Michael Collins had been sacked.
