BRADFORD came back from the brink to record a fine away victory over East Riding in the Yorkshire Inter-District League, and they face another tough task at Leeds on Sunday.

Leeds have won three of their opening five fixtures, and currently lead Bradford on points difference. Like their West Yorkshire rivals, they go into Sunday's clash buoyed by a 19-17 success at York.

They have dominated against the teams below them in the table. As well as the York victory, they beat Harrogate 20-16 on the opening day and recorded the league's biggest away win of 2018, a 30-6 win on Teesside.

Bradford will fancy their chances though, following their spectacular finish at East Riding. The two teams were level over the first 10 holes, but the hosts pulled out a 17-11 lead heading into the final four games.

However, visiting players James Darcy and James Tate both recorded thumping victories before Jack Watson won 3&2 to leave the scores level ahead of the final match.

In a tense contest, Bradford Golf Club's John Reddy edged out Anil Panesar 2&1 to complete an improbable comeback.

The side currently sit fifth, and they follow the weekend game at Leeds with their final clash of the season, a home clash against rock-bottom York.
