IT'S always a momentous day for Betfred League One clubs when Bradford Bulls are in town, and tomorrow will be no different for North Wales Crusaders at their Queensway Stadium in Wrexham.

Their chief executive officer Andy Moulsdale has already been rallying the Crusaders fans for the visit of the former World Club champions, who are in a tussle with York City Knights for top spot.

Moulsdale said of the Bulls, who are, of course, led by Wales coach John Kear: “Bradford are a huge club with a big history and they travel in large numbers, so we’re in for a great day.

“I’d like to encourage fans new and old, and also people who have not been to watch us before, to come down to the Queensway and enjoy the match-day experience and what will be a fantastic atmosphere.

“With free parking and on-site bars and food outlets, you’ll have a great afternoon.”

The Crusaders have also strengthened their squad by signing utility back Lewis Fairhurst from Keighley Cougars for the remainder of the season.

Fairhurst had previously spent time at Championship side Dewsbury Rams, being loaned to Hemel Stags, having initially come through the youth system at Salford Red Devils.

He has also gained international honours with England Students and made his debut off the bench last Sunday in the 30-0 defeat against the Knights at Bootham Crescent.

Meanwhile, former Bulls and North Wales Crusaders star Stuart Reardon, now involved with Fear Nothing Fitness as well as doing some modelling, has been confirmed as a special guest at tomorrow's match.

Former Great Britain international Reardon enjoyed success with the Bulls, including winning the Harry Sunderland Trophy for his performance in the Grand Final, and was part of their treble-winning 2003 side.

He also enjoyed success with the Crusaders, helping them to a league and cup double in 2013 before retiring at the club in 2016.

Reardon turned professional for the Bulls from West Bowling in 2000 and shot to prominence in late 2002 when former Bulls assistant coach Karl Harrison took over as head coach of Salford City Reds and signed Reardon to boost their fight against relegation.

He returned to the Bulls in 2003 and found a place in the first team after a long-term injury to Michael Withers, making 20 appearances in their title-winning side, including being full back in the Super League Grand Final against Wigan Warriors in which he scored a try and won the Harry Sunderland Trophy as man of the match.

Reardon was also part of the Bulls team that won the 2004 World Club Challenge, defeating Penrith Panthers 22-4.
