The win over Whitehaven last weekend was a special one for the Bulls, how did you rate it?

Yes, it was an amazing result for us.

Whitehaven obviously are one of the top teams in this division and one of our rivals, so to put 46 points past them and keep a big fat zero for us was a great achievement and a fantastic result for us.

The fact that we didn’t concede a single point, is that a statement to York that we are not going away in this title battle?

Definitely. We didn’t really feel like we were going to get broken at any point in the Whitehaven game.

We sat tight and got the points we needed to get our difference up, which is going to be crucial once all the games are done.

Now that you are back, during your third spell with a club is it hard to find new things to achieve?

Oh no, there’s always something new, especially with everything that has gone on with the club in the last few years.

I came through the academy in my first stint here and played in the Super League with the Bulls and spent my second stint in the Championship.

I’ve come back now after more club troubles and find myself playing in League One, so there are massive goals to achieve.

We want promotion at the first attempt, but also we need to start re-building the brand which is the Bradford Bulls.

There is a really loyal fan base here who are fantastic showing up every week, so there are always new things popping up around the club, and it’s something I will enjoy for the rest of my time here.

Surely this must be the most positive the club has been out of all your stints here?

It is. As harsh as it might sound, I think what happened to the club is the best thing that could have happened to us.

Andrew Chalmers and his group have come in and stabilised the club after years of poor ownership.

They have reduced the wage bill and made the team a full-time/part-time mix which helps financially.

Despite that we have retained some top quality players, so we are rebuilding for the Championship and to go on to bigger and better things.

Speaking of going forward, next up is the Crusaders, so what sort of game can the fans expect?

They’re similar to Whitehaven. They’re a big set of forwards who like going forward.

We have to go down there and respect the opposition, but we need to make sure we get a result.

If we can start like we did against London and Whitehaven I have no doubt we will win, but they are going to provide a tough test for us.
