A YEAR after winning the Women's Rugby League Challenge Cup final, Bradford Bulls have lifted the second prize of the Shield final.

They defeated derby rivals Stanningley 44-16 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington.

Tries came from Amy Hardcastle (2), Reagan Walker (2), Leah Jones, Shona Hoyle, Becky Conlon and Jess Courtman, with player of the match Jones adding six conversions.

Stanningley's points came from tries by Hayley Fielding and Elychia Watson, with Chloe Wainwright-Murphy adding four goals.

Jones puts the Bulls on the road to victory, collecting her own kick and using her pace to outflank the Stanningley defence.

Fielding's try on the last tackle, plus Wainwright-Murphy's first goal, levelled matters but Bulls were 20-14 ahead at half-time.

Their other points came courtesy of tries by Hoyle, after good work from Danielle Bose and Amy Broadman; Walker, after Heather MacDonald and Savannah Andrade had paved the way; and Conlon, who made a swift break from the halfway line.

Wainwright-Morley responded with a penalty and the conversion of Watson's try.

However, all that Stanningley could manage in the second half was another Wainwright-Morley penalty goal as the Bulls stretched away with tries by Hardcastle, who used her strength to power over from ten metres out; Courtman, after a swift pass by skipper Kirsty Moroney; Walker, from a scrum; and Hardcastle again, with Jones adding all four goals, including a gem to improve Courtman's try.
