BRANDON Pickersgill is looking forward to seeing the best of Jordan Lilley at Bulls.

The Rhinos half-back has returned to Odsal for a second loan spell after admitting he feels his career has gone backwards.

His deal runs until the end of next season, providing him with much-needed stability and he marked his second Bulls debut with a try in their emphatic win at London Skolars.

And Pickersgill believes his old team-mate as juniors at Stanningley is set to flourish again with Bradford.

He said: "I thought Jordan went well at London. He is still trying to get his confidence but I thought he put in a good performance.

"He enjoys it down here and I think after a few weeks you will see the best of him."

Lilley had been a regular at Rhinos in 2016 when Danny McGuire was injured and enjoyed a 12-game spell with Bulls last season before being recalled to Leeds.

Opportunities have been limited at his parent club this year and the player admitted to being low on confidence.

But he was "delighted to blow the cobwebs off" with Bulls in the capital, linking up with Dane Chisholm in a partnership which John Kear believes will blossom.

The Odsal head coach said: "The more they play together the better they will get.

"It was bound to be scratchy initially especially in the strong wind at London. It cut out the long pass option, which we identified. It had to be a short pass because obviously the wind was taking the ball

"They had to play a limited type of game but I thought they did it very well."

Meanwhile, Pickersgill says Bulls won't get ahead of themselves as the head-to-head race for the League One title race with York hots up.

Knights drew level at the summit with a 68-6 win over Coventry that reduced Bradford's superior points difference to 76.

Pickersgill said: "You could say there is a bit more pressure in that we know we need to win every match but we are just taking it game by game.

"Just week by week we’re going to try our best to take the two points and Saturday was a good start."
