LEEDS UNITED have signed Manchester City attacking midfielder Jack Harrison on a season-long loan deal, the Sky Bet Championship club have announced.

The 21-year-old Englishman, who joined City from New York City in January, scored 14 goals in 55 games in Major League Soccer.

Harrison spent the second half of last season with Middlesbrough but made just four appearances, all as a substitute.

City boss Pep Guardiola was happy to let Harrison join Leeds to work under new boss Marcelo Bielsa.

Speaking to LUTV, Harrison said: “I spoke with Pep a little bit about (Bielsa) and he had a lot of encouraging words. Obviously a lot of his ideas and philosophy are built around some of the same ones here. For him to be saying that about Marcelo is really encouraging in what it means for me.

“I’m a winger, I like to attack, score goals and try and assist as much as I can. I’m looking forward to doing plenty of that.”

Harrison joins following the capture of left back Barry Douglas from Wolves at the weekend.
