JOHN Kear was happy with his side's response to their defeat to title rivals York as Bulls bounced back with a convincing win at London Skolars.

Bradford blitzed the hosts with an 11-try show in a 58-12 victory at the New River Stadium in windy conditions.

The emphatic win - at a side who had only lost to York by two points earlier this month - put Bulls two points clear of Knights, who host Coventry tomorrow, with a plus 138 better points difference.

Kear said: "I was really pleased with that response because it could have been a tough day.

"It is a very small pitch and they are a team who are building on performances in recent weeks.

"This wind has been ridiculous. You had to play two different types of rugby depending on whether you had it or were playing into it.

"Credit to the fellows, they concentrated really hard.

"We could have been smarter at times and tried to overplay at times but generally they have been pretty ruthless and I would have settled for 56-12 before the game."

There was a first try for on-loan forward James Green and Tuoyo Egodo enjoyed a fine debut after joining on loan from Castleford in midweek.

Kear said: "I thought they did very well but I thought there were a number of players who did well.

"The thing that pleased me most was the collective attitude. They wanted to rectify some of the things they did wrong last week and they did that."

After a slow start against York, Bulls were straight out of the traps in the capital but Skolars were still in the game at half-time as the visitors lead 20-6.

However, Bulls turned the screw in the second half as Ethan Ryan claimed his hat-trick before Skolars added a late consolation.

Kear said: "The first 20 minutes we completed nine out of nine sets. It was only when we went 14-0 up that we got a bit sloppy but again that is a learning experience.

"The second half I was absolutely delighted and it seemed that the only way London got the ball was from those short kick-offs which were really difficult to claim."
