Luke Hopkins spoke to Bulls winger Dalton Grant

Your brace against York brought up 100 career tries for yourself, so you must be delighted with that?

Yes I’m extremely happy, especially considering the fact that I’ve had long-term injuries over the past few years.

I snapped both of my Achilles, so I’ve been out the game really for about 18 months and this is my first season back.

I went to the World Cup with Wales and got some game time there, but I’m just starting to find my feet again.

A lot of people forget that I haven’t played for 18 months, so it’s just really nice to get back into it and establish myself in the game again.

I’m starting to get my form back so getting to the 100-try mark is a massive career milestone for me.

I like to think I have a solid try scoring record and I’m over the moon to be honest.

It’s also great to get it at Bradford, even though we didn’t get the result we wanted against York, it was a special moment to notch up 100 career tries in front of over 6,000 fans.

You mention the fantastic attendance of around 6,500 for the York game, in a time where there is so much uncertainty surrounding the sport as a whole, do you think that game served as the perfect advert for rugby league?

Yes absolutely. I know Bradford have always had a good following and often match if not beat many of the Super League attendances.

I think for the sport and League One, in particular, to get that many people out watching a game is great for rugby league.

The issue at the minute is funding and trying to help the clubs who are struggling, so it’s good to see that from a Bulls perspective that even though the club has gone down to League One we are still that big club, so hopefully now we can rise up into the Championship and then the Super League.

The loss to York has potentially put the title up for grabs again, has this result impacted the confidence of the team?

No not at all. We knew it was going to be a tough game and we got caught a bit cold in the first half.

But we fought back well and showed them how good we are as a team, a few little things meant we eventually lost by the two points, but we’re still top of the table with our superior points difference.

Now we need to return to what we have been doing before and that’s winning games comfortably, and if we do that in our last eight games we will hopefully lift that trophy come the end of the season.

The next test is London Skolars who we beat earlier in the season, how vital is it to now do that again?

Even though we beat them you simply can’t overlook them. Most teams have got stronger now, recruiting better players and I know London had a good performance against York only losing by two points, so no team is to be taken lightly.
