CIROC need just one win from their remaining three games to retain their Bradford & District Evening League Division One title.

They opened up a four-point gap at the top of the table after their victory over Thornton, coupled with second-placed Greenfield's defeat at the hands of John Breare.

Ciroc had a nine-wicket win over Thornton at the Karmand Centre after restricting the visitors to 108-7, despite the best efforts of Ross Soames (34no) and Tom Williams (22).

Opener Ismail Dawood's 50 not out laid the foundations for Ciroc's reply, ably supported by Raqeeb Younas (39no) as they reached their target on 109-1 with 3.4 overs to spare.

Meanwhile, Greenfield slipped to a surprising loss at Westfield Lane against John Breare as they set the home side an inviting 117-7 (Adeel Ahmed 38, Sajad Ali 37).

Daniel Holah's 52 not out saw Breare home with eight wickets and 2 overs to spare.

Greenfield's loss also means that third-placed Denholme can catch them and book a place in the end-of-season Finals Day play-offs – if the villagers can win their remaining three games, including the winner-takes-all clash at home to Greenfield next Wednesday.

Denholme recorded the second highest score of the day at Shelf as opener Jack Seddon smashed 51 not out from just 16 balls as the visitors ended on 153-7 from their 16 overs, with further contributions from Josh Fell (33) and Richard Wear (24).

Shelf were always in with a shout until the latter stages of their innings, when they faltered to 131 all out (Mussaver Shah 33, Maisum Ali 27) as Richard Wear completed a fine all-round performance by taking 4-30, supported by his younger brother Matty (3-32).

Fourth-placed Crossflatts posted what must have seemed a below-par 105-5 off 18 overs at Westwood Park as tail- ender Mohammed Zulfiqar once again top scored for them with 29.

However, their bowlers then went to work and dismissed Raja's for just 74 in 16.3 overs (Noman Zubair 25) as spinner Wasim Hussain took 3-3.

In Division Two, leaders Undercliffe helped themselves to the top score of the day at Bradshaw as they posted 200-5 from just 16 overs against the Halifax outfit, with retirements from both Gully Ahmed (52no) and overseas Khalid Usman (50no) and 46 from opener Fahid Rehman.

In reply, Bradshaw ended on a respectable 137-6 as Mohammed Yousaf hit 54 not out and Chris Dennison 29, with Asif Latif taking 3-20.

Undercliffe now only need one point to guarantee themselves promotion and a place at Finals Day, but they will need a further two victories from their final three games to claim the Division Two championship.

The only side with a realistic chance of challenging Undercliffe for the title are fellow Bradford Leaguers Buttershaw St Paul's, whose game at Azeem's Riddlesden home was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to an unfit pitch.

Although the league are still to decide on the points allocation for the game, the visitors are likely to be awarded the points as Great Horton Park Chapel were when the same scenario happened a couple of weeks ago.

The league are working with Azeems to ensure that their final home game of the season against Undercliffe next Wednesday goes ahead.

Great Horton Park Chapel still have an outside chance of wrestling the second promotion spot and Finals Day berth away from St Paul's but are fast running out of games.

Baildon's overseas Blair Oakley continued his fine season with the bat as he scored 47 and, with the help of skipper Chris Brown (38no), helped Park Chapel post 121-6 at Ingrow, for whom Duncan Tetley took 3-23.

Matthew Jordan then returned the excellent figures of 5-6 as the home side were bowled out for just 90.

Cross Roads & Daisy Hill came out on top in the battle of the basement sides as they posted 124-5 at Sunnybank (Tahir Datta 27, Islam Khokhar 3-11) and then proceeded to restrict home side Muff Field to 78-8 (Chris Heald 3-13), despite managing to bat out their full 16 overs.

This must have been Muff Field's best chance to notch their first ever Evening League victory, and they now they only have three games left in which to do so this season.
