BINGLEY Congs II earned themselves a Cowling Cup semi-final spot when they overcame Bradford & Bingley III on their travels.

The home side made 107-5 in their 20 overs with Rick Foulder (27) top-scoring. In a dramatic finish, the visitors got home by five wickets off the last ball. Charlie Raistrick (29no) proved to be the hero.

There was another exciting finish at Denholme. Their seconds posted 120 after Isaac Murray (36) and James Bloodworth (33) put on 67 for the first wicket against Foulridge II.

Murray took 3-24 in the visitors' reply, but they managed to scramble to victory with just one wicket remaining.

Barrowford II went first at Haworth Road and posted 124-7. Usman Ahmed (34) and Usman Anwar (24) proved to be the main contributors as Andy Maude claimed 3-17.

Haworth Road II were 79-6 before Tom Kaznowski (28no) and Devon Beckford (14no) took them to 119-5 as they lost by five runs.

In the last tie of the round, Hepworth & Idle II batted first and 119-6 with Mark Davies scoring 35. Visitors Oakworth II could not find a batter to make a similar score to Davies as they fell short in their reply of 102-9.

Bilal Khan produced their best effort with a knock of 19 as Dave Dunne took 2-5 from his three overs.

The draw for the semi finals is Foulridge v Bingley Congs II and Hepworth & Idle II v Barrowford II. Finals day will be on August 12 at Wilsden CC.
