HAWORTH Road secured a surprise victory at third-placed Oakworth by 45 runs in Division One of the Mewies Craven Cricket League after a pair of star performances.

The visitors were struggling on 122-7 but Zahir Abbas cut loose and hammered 104 not out, smashing nine sixes to take his side to 216.

Earlier, Muhammad Zahid made 45 as Tom Fothergill (3-28) bowled tidily. Drew Duffy (65) tried hard to get the hosts up to that total but Zahid had other ideas as he finished with 5-27.

There are new leaders after Bingley Congs went down to their fourth successive defeat. They made 177 at Embsay with Andrew Copping (50) leading the way.

Tom Robinson (3-23), Joe Holt (3-27) and Arslam Hussain (3-31) shared the bowling honours and their side strolled home by five wickets. John Golson (37no) and Mohsin Saghir (33no) finishing Congs off.

The new leaders are Barrowford, who figured in a high-scoring game at Denholme. The visitors rattled up 242, despite Matt Wear claiming 5-52.

The home side fell just 19 runs short in their chase after brave efforts by Ronnie Chokununga (60) and Toby Priestley (46).

Only seven wickets fell at Sutton. Visitors Wilsden amassed 230-4 with Chris Longley (85no) and Dipesh Mistry (57no) putting on an undefeated 106 for the fifth wicket.

David Snowden scored a super 110 in reply though as his side won easily by seven wickets.

Ingrow succumbed for 145 at Crossflatts as Mayank Singh (4-26) bowled superbly. The hosts lost seven wickets before scrambling past the winning post. Vijay Amirtharaj making 51 as Mohammad Arshad took 4-12.

Hepworth & Idle achieved a welcome victory on their travels to Haworth. The home side went first and made 200. Jamie Rowell scored 64 as Nathan Allatt claimed 3-39.

Mike Newell (86) rescued Hepworth & Idle from 13-3 to help them home by five wickets. He was ably assisted by Jonathan Thompson (43no) and Gareth Goodaire (36no).

Cowling cling to top spot in Division Two, despite losing at Bradford & Bingley III. The hosts posted 147-4 with Will Johnston (39) being the main contributor.

The leaders were then dismissed for 101, with Shahbaz Ahmed's 5-24 doing the bulk of the damage

Cononley slumped to a five-wicket home defeat against Eldwick & Gilstead. Cameron Knowles (79no) top-scored as the home side made 184-7 but Tom Conneely (49) saw the visitors home.

Long Lee scored 136 at Sandy Lane, with Mohammad Ishtiaq making 36no, as Attique Khan (4-39) kept them in check.

The hosts found themselves 121-9 in reply after Ishtiaq took 6-52, but Zeeshan Aslam (26no) managed to score all the 19 runs required for victory.

Haworth Road II hosted Glusburn. The latter posted 184-5 after a fine 84no by Neil Freeman. The Baildon Bottom side crumpled to 151 all out in response, after Azhar Iqbal took 6-28.

Finally, Gargrave entertained Airedale and dished out a thrashing. Opener William Smith struck 55 for the hosts in their score of 137 before Ben Howlett ripped through the visitors, taking 5-11 as they collapsed to 61 all out.
