BRIGHOUSE Sports A and Littlemoor B have triumphed in the Brotherton Cup and Wood Cup respectively.

Both finals were played in the Heavy Woollen area, with the runners-up being Littlemoor A (Brotherton) and Harold (Wood) on what was a great day's bowling in an excellent atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire defeated Merseyside 497-296, dropping only seven points in 24 games, to win their group and breeze into the Ladies' County Championship semi-finals, including notching all 12 winners in the away match at Pensby.

Yorkshire ladies completed their group game with a convincing 201 point victory over Merseyside dropping only 7 points across all 24 games and carding all 12 winners away at Pensby.

The white rose will now face Shropshire in the semi-finals on Sunday, August 19.

Competition regular Audrey Hardcastle (Dacre Banks) beat Daniel Twist (Tarnfield & Addingham) in the final of the Airedale & Wharfedale's 11 Ends Merit at Wharfemeadows.

She now qualifies for the end-of-season Champion of Champions at Idle on Sunday, October 14.

A first Aire-Wharfe final was also a reward for Daniel, who has supported their events for several years.
