CHARLIE Wyke lasted only eight minutes in potentially his final City appearance at Valley Parade.

The striker left the field early as Sheffield United won an entertaining friendly 3-2 last night.

Wyke departed straight after the Blades struck first through John Fleck, with what looked a recurrence of the knee issue that had kept him out at York.

Sheffield United bossed the first half and doubled their lead with Leon Clarke's goal after 34 minutes.

But City, playing at home for the first time under Michael Collins, came back into it after the break.

New loan signing Jack Payne, who had an excellent game, fired home from 20 yards.

And then Jordan Gibson levelled nine minutes from the end.

But Sheffield United had the final say as Billy Sharp scored with a deflected effort.
