JER LANE went back to the top of the Conference table after they defeated Azaad by five wickets to take advantage of Adwalton’s 130-run defeat by Sandal.

The league new boys had to chase down a total of 222-5 and never looked back once Raqeeb Younis and Chris Ramsden shared an opening stand of 100.

Younis, who made 95, dominated the stand and his good work was built on by Imran Mirza (49no) and Nahim Ashraf (34).

Azaad had built their total around the contributions of Umar Mirza (84) and Chavez Younas (39) against a bowling attack in which Matthew Johnson took 3-38 and Gurdev Singh 3-45.

Ben Van Den Nieuwenhof continues to make a big impression for Sandal. He took 6-27 as his side dismissed Adwalton for just 62 to secure a 132-run win.

Kieran Dransfield (50) top-scored in Sandal’s 192-8 while Gareth Lee (3-25) was the best of the Adwalton bowlers.

Oulton also climbed above Adwalton after making the day’s highest score of 302-9 in their 105-run win over Gildersome & Farnley Hill.

Opener Will Harrison led the way with a fine 112 and he was joined in a third-wicket partnership of 164 by Jonathan Gardiner (67), while Ryan Healey chipped in with 47. Jonny Walker took 4-72 for Gildersome & Farnley Hill.

Liam Pearson (70), Gethin Clarke (45) and Jack Irwin (35no) helped Gildersome & Farnley Hill to 197 in reply. Ben Child was the best of the bowlers with 5-66, while Gardiner took 4-22.

Rodley’s Rob Young hit his first century of the season to help his side to a 110-run win over East Leeds.

Young struck five sixes and 16 fours in his 124 which was the cornerstone of his side’s total of 250. Gary Sagar (33) joined him in an opening stand of 117. East Leeds were bowled out for 140.

Heckmondwike & Carlinghow won the basement battle with Windhill & Daisy Hill by seven wickets. Openers Matthew Crowther (68) and Paul Cooper (59) shared a partnership of 124 as they helped their side overhaul the Windhill & Daisy Hill score of 157.

Veteran Maz Bhatti top-scored with 53 for Windhill & Daisy Hill while Nazakat Hussain took 4-41 and Cooper 3-35.

Oliver Baron’s unbeaten 62 helped Great Preston to complete a three-wicket win over Crossbank Methodists.

Adam Holroyd took 3-32 for Crossbank, having earlier top scored with 46 in their 174. Jacob Wright was the best of the Great Preston bowlers with 5-44.
