HOLDERS Haworth Road Meths II are through to the last eight of the Mewies Solicitors Craven League's Cowling Cup.

The Baildon Bottom side won the second-round tie by 28 runs against visitors Cowling II.

The hosts made 131-7 in their 20 overs, with Will Forrest (47) top scoring, but Cowling were in the hunt at 92-4 but lost their last six wickets for just 11 runs.

Qamar Zaman made 33 as Waj Mahmood took 3-8 in 1.4 overs.

Lee Crowther (22) and Dave Hemsley (21) helped Bingley Congs II to 129-8 at Bradley II, despite the best efforts of under-15 Charlie Andrews, who took 5-13.

The home side replied with 103-9 (Danny Smith 28, David Hunt 25, Michael Baines 3-22).

Denholme II hit the day's second highest score of 147-3 at Crossflatts II.

Mike Dennison (59no) and Neil Spencer (62, including five fours and three sixes) put on 104 for the third wicket, and the Ryshworth Park side replied with 120-8 as Isaac Murray took 3-32.

The day's highest score belonged to Hepworth & Idle II, who rattled up 163-2, thanks to Paul Haigh (67) and David Dunne (49), who got things rolling with a stand of 123.

Visitors Glusburn II could only manage 56 in reply, with Colin Dyson (18) top scoring as Mike Newell claimed 3-11.

Sutton II made 120-7 at Cure Hill after an opening stand of 70 by Danny Ridehalgh (51) and Kane Booker (29) promised better, but steady bowling, led by Brannan Lawn (2-10), curtailed the innings.

Oakworth II got home by seven wickets, with Michael Scarborough (47no) and Steve Powell (30no) putting on 79 unbroken for the fourth wicket.

Just to prove it wasn't a fluke on Saturday, Foulridge II returned to Silsden II the following day and beat them again, this time by only 14 runs.

The Noyna side made 122-7, with Abrar Sarwar making 33 and Tamoor Munir 28 as Will Pullen took 2-20.

The Keighley Road side replied with 108-9, with Jack Roberts making 33, but Irfan Khaliq, bowling at the death, finished with 4-14.

Barrowford II made 140-6 at home to Embsay II, with Pete Hakin (35no) and Kev Lyons (25) top-scoring as Neville Allan (2-29) was the best bowler.

The Shires Laners fell 23 runs short at 117-6, with Chris Beck (25) and Paul Wormald (23no) leading the way as Tajmal Hussain took 2-11.

Bradford & Bingley III – last year's runners-up – didn't have to break sweat as opponents Oakworth III conceded.
