DIVISION One leaders Bingley Congs did not have it all their own way when they entertained bottom side Hepworth & Idle in the Mewies Craven Cricket League.

Rick Andrews struck 44 as they struggled to 138. Richard Taylor (4-33) and Don Wooler (3-40) bowled magnificently and the visitors fell just six runs short of a shock win. Tom Hawksworth top scored with 33 as Neil Copping claimed 5-20.

Six points behind are Oakworth, who enjoyed a 53-run victory at Embsay. The away side smashed 250-6, with Joe Copperwaite leading the way with 78.

Copperwaite then took 3-36, despite Joe Holt (37) taking Embsay to a respectable 197. Meanwhile, Barrowford are third after thumping Wilsden by 10 wickets, knocking off 116 inside 18 overs.

Denholme reached 198-6 at home to Crossflatts, with Mike Dennison (80) top-scoring, but the visitors triumphed by three wickets. Skipper Dominic Bennett making 69 as Toby Priestley finished with 4-33.

In-form Haworth were shot out for just 113 by Sutton. Peter Gower top scored with 40 as James Mcdonald (3-27) and Justin Holdsworth (3-30) did most of the damage.

Sutton cruised home by eight wickets with Craig Thornton (47no) and Chris Barrett (40no) seeing them over the line.

Ingrow’s Mark Price (66) helped them to 184-9, with Zahir Abbas (3-40) and Rob Greenwood (3-41) being the main wicket takers.

Visitors Haworth Road could only reply with 171. Charles Briggs made 66 as William Rankin (4-26) got among the wickets.

Airedale are one point clear of Cowling at the top of Division Two. They entertained rock-bottom Chatburn and rattled up 259-4, with Chris Gill making 110 and Matthew Cox 67.

Mohammed Qadeer Hanif then took 3-34 and Lee Rickaby 3-61 as they dismissed their opponents for 214.

Cowling move into second after receiving three points from their game against Sandy Lane because of the latter fielding unregistered players, and their beating of Glusburn on their travels.

They slammed 259-9 with Martyn Dalby scoring 96no and Mike Dudley 45 as Mark Pickles took 5-86. The hosts slumped to 118 all out, with Shahid Hassan bowling superbly to finish with 8-25.

Foulridge drop to third after losing by 64 runs at Haworth Road II. The home side posted 147 with Ian Robson (42) top-scoring. The visitors were skittled for 83 in reply, Sarfraz Mahmood (6-37) doing the most damage.

Sandy Lane remain in relegation danger after losing to Gargrave by seven wickets. Hasnat Bukhari (35) got them to 75 as Stuart Weatherill took 4-34. Bukhari took all of Gargrave's wickets as Will Smith made 27 out of 76-3.

Bradford & Bingley III entertained Cononley and won by four wickets. The visitors made 149-9, with opener Tom Feather (73no) carrying his bat as Irfan Ul Haque and Lochlan Doidge took three wickets each. Opener Will Johnston (78no) took the home side to victory.

Finally, Long Lee travelled to face Eldwick & Gilstead. They posted 166, with Jan Haider (36) leading the way as Ajeet Singh and Jordan Bayliss took three wickets each. The hosts slumped to 76 all out as Shahbaz Ahmed took a stunning 7-14.
