FARSLEY go into this weekend's Bradford League Premier Division clash at home to Cleckheaton full of confidence after travelling to hapless Lightcliffe last week and dismantling them by a huge margin of 183 runs.

James Logan was the star of the show for the visitors. He stroked a glorious 118 at the top of the order as his side racked up 343-4 from their 50 overs, before taking 5-35 as Lightcliffe were skittled for just 160.

Logan and fellow change bowler Pat Kruger have now taken more than 40 league wickets between them this season, and have proved that seeing off the new ball is the least of their opponent's worries.

Farsley currently sit fourth, just behind title favourites Hanging Heaton and will hope to advance further up the table this weekend with a home victory over ninth-placed Cleckheaton.

New Farnley remain top after winning a rain-affected clash by five wickets on the Duckworth-Lewis rule and former England and Yorkshire man Ajmal Shahzad will hope to continue his form with bat and ball as his side face lowly Bradford & Bingley.

Pudsey St Lawrence are right on their tail though and they will expect to pick up maximum points when they host mid-table Methley. They hammered Scholes away from home last time out, dismissing their opponents for just 100.

Hanging Heaton cruised to a 10-wicket DLS win over Bradford & Bingley on Saturday and will be hoping for a similarly emphatic result at home to Lightcliffe.

Elsewhere Woodlands will look to register their seventh win from 10 games with victory at Townville, while there is a real basement battle between the league's two bottom sides, with Scholes travelling to East Bierley.

There was a comfortable win for leaders Undercliffe in Championship One last week as they dismantled a strong Gomersal side by seven wickets.

They face a huge top of the table clash with Wrenthorpe tomorrow though. There are two points between the sides, although the latter were not at their best when scraping past lowly Hunslet Nelson by four wickets in their last game.

Ossett have yet to win this season and were heartbroken to lose by one wicket at Pudsey Congs last week. They will hope to break their duck with a home victory over mid-table Bankfoot this weekend.

In Championship Two, Keighley sit top with a 17-point lead, and they beat East Ardsley comfortably last week by 55 runs. They should have little trouble extended their lead at the summit, as they travel to joint-bottom Spen Victoria tomorrow.
