England fringe batsman James Vince hit a sparkling 171 from 126 balls as Hampshire set Yorkshire a victory target of 349 in today’s Royal London one-day Cup semi-final at the Ageas Bowl.

Vince came in at number three and hit his second successive RL50 century and his fourth in 20 innings across all cricket against Yorkshire as the hosts made 348-9.

He shared 142 for the third wicket with Sam Northeast to advance the score from 76-2 in the 13th over, with Northeast the next best with 58.

Ben Coad, Tim Bresnan and Steve Patterson struck twice apiece for Yorkshire, who elected to bowl first.

Hampshire perhaps should have posted more than they did, but the Vikings hit back well at the death.

The winners of this tie will play Kent in the final at Lord’s a week on Saturday.
