UNDERCLIFFE have taken over at the top of the Bradford Premier League Championship One after scoring a comfortable seven-wicket win over Gomersal.

Left-hander Fahid Rehman hit an unbeaten 83 and opener Jack Holland struck 40 as Undercliffe overhauled Gomersal’s score of 171.

Only Graham Hilton (35) and Joel Pollard (32) threatened to get going for Gomersal against a bowling attack in which overseas player Khalid Usman took 3-22 and Michael Kelsey 3-30.

Undercliffe picked up 20 points and are now two ahead of Wrenthorpe, who only gained 17 despite continuing their winning run with a four-wicket victory over Hunslet Nelson.

James Glynn (3-16) and Awais Ejaz (3-40) did the damage as Nelson were bowled out for a disappointing 116.

They plunged to 26-5 and only a third-wicket stand of 85 between Mohammed Suleman (44) and Daniel Calverley (33) gave the score some respectability.

Wrenthorpe lost six wickets reaching their modest target with Luke Patel (34) top scoring.

Third-placed Morley suffered their second defeat of the season when they went down by four wickets to a James Lee-inspired Bankfoot.

He followed up his 8-36 in the previous game against Yeadon by taking 5-46 and following up with 52 to help guide his side to their target of 137.

Once again Morley’s batting crumbled. Left-arm spinner Andy Stothart did the early damage with 4-56 before former Yorkshire paceman Lee finished them off.

Pudsey Congs scored a thrilling one-wicket win over Ossett who remain rooted to the bottom of the table and without a win to their name.

Ossett looked set to finally break their duck until the Congs last-wicket pair of Jamie Allen and Sam Wisniewski added 18 crucial runs to edge their side home. Earlier, the two youngsters had taken 4-59 and 3-80 respectively as Ossett made 231-8.

Ossett will draw some positives from the game, with the biggest being the performance of overseas player James Van der Merwe. He made 104no, his highest score for the club, and was supported by Oliver Newton (43) and Harvey Anderson (35).

Opener James Ford (67) and Mubtada Akhtar (35) got the Congs' reply away to a good start, but their chase looked to be faltering when left-arm spinner Matthew Varley took 4-59, but Ossett couldn’t finish their opponents off.

Overseas player Ali Shan hit 51 not out to guide Hartshead Moor to a four-wicket win over struggling Yeadon.

He ensured that his side chased down Yeadon’s score of 125 in which Ryan Heptonstall top scored with 33 not out. Joe Bowman was the best of the bowlers with 4-16.

Roheil Hussain took 6-43 and was backed up by Mohammad Shahnawaz (3-25) as Batley bowled out Baildon for 175 to secure a 36-run win. Simon Bailey (66) and Hamza Iqbal (52) battled hard but their efforts weren’t enough to save their side from defeat.

Waleed Anjum (56) and Faisal Javed (38) had earlier helped their side to a score of 211-9. Paceman Brett Kinsey was the pick of Baildon’s bowlers with 5-50.
