AUGUSTINIANS are to rejoin the Spenser Wilson Halifax League next season.

They had to resign from the league in 2013 after losing their ground at Salendine Nook, Huddersfield.

Since then they have obtained and developed a new ground at Woodhouse Gardens in Rastrick, and currently have two teams playing in the Dewsbury & District League.

The work and improvements at the new ground have now surpassed those required for the Halifax League, and Augustinians' application to rejoin was overwhelmingly approved at a recent league meeting.

They will field first and second teams in the respective Second Divisions in 2019.

The Halifax League is now recognised as the foremost amateur league in Yorkshire and is open to any application from a club within its catchment area, from Haworth to North Huddersfield and Todmorden to West Bradford, especially from any club considering moving out of cricket's semi-professional ranks.

Interested clubs should contact Tim Helliwell on 01274-683581 or 07572-209952.
